I think this is a bit different. In this situation Demetrios and I filled in our cards correctly, but the ref couldn't type and gave him a 1 instead of a 10. It's something tangible that can be evidenced and I don't see inconsistency there.

There is inconsistency in their treatment of Nathan and Gaz. My view is once the game is done it is done. If they run it otherwise they are open to all manner of complaints as players start remembering 'dodgy' things their opponents did.

What they do need are more refs, so they are at hand to give quick decisions (and to watch table 1 and 2 a bit more, so they can ensure the situation re Gaz does not happen), and better refs, such as ones who actually know the rules. One of our team was trying to execute a ram with his Falcon and the ref held the game up for ten minutes before concluding skimmers couldn't ram, which probably cost him qualification. This does not inspire confidence.

My experiance with GT refs has been similar but mostly its down to lack of refs in the hall, i make a habbit of never asking for a ref unless there is dire need to have one sort something out but even then i think twice about asking during the end of the day as the limited refs they do have are knackered by then and tend to be abit ratty. I agree with Neil though, in the end we pay our money to go and play and we expect like anything you pay for out there value for our money and good customer service. Gaz i take my hat off to you mate i would not have let that situation go, it sounds like someone threw a tantrum and you got the but end of it mate.
On that note ive used this disscusion to tab up the pages of my rule book with common rules that are mistaken or cheated on (like charging from moved vehicles now known as the way to piss gaz off rule) in the hope that if anyone tries ths at heat 3 i wont need the ref and can just point out its wrong. Karma sounds good you made a the dictionary must have come in handy, but translations from the rule book are sorted in the tournement pack where it says simply "you need a full english version of the rule book". If the french,spanish or italian version is different thats tough luck to them they get told to bring and use the english version.

You misunderstand....When in France and you are looking at the English rulebook.....it can be wrong.....even though the English one is the 'Master' one for the world

Hello guys!I'm the one with the Pre-Heresy EC that came 2nd(but got 3rd place prizes because someone didnt press the 0 for a 10 pts draw hard enough).I have to say that i had 6 great games and lots of fun for the weekend!All six of my opponents were great,the games run smooth and we didn't have to call for a referee once,we either both agreed on a solution or just rolled for it.I didnt mind very much loosing 2nd place because of a typo,the guys from the events team offered to make me a Throne in silver with a plaque saying "The real 2nd place winner" but i kindly refused because to be honest i think the bronze Throne looks better(plus the certificate i got also said 3rd place,i want my trophies consistent).All in all,i had an awesome weekend,got my thropies and also got a best army nomination meaning that when i left i looked like this---
